1. In Progress: our new shop at Barbican Art Centre

A few pictures of our new in-progress retail space; official launch is on Thursday, the Barbican shop will be open for the opening on Wednesday so if you are around for the Pioneer exhibition launch party on Wednesday come and check what we have been up to!

Some of you who attended our last (London) FoodMarketo will recognise our shelves designed by Lars Frideen and Max Lamb; there soon will be a new metallic version of those and the wooden shelves will be on sale…

    * Obviously those are pictures of a work “in progress”; still missing the cartels and the vynil lettering but that gives you an idea.

We are hosted by the Barbican Art Centre on level 3—a shop within the shop—where we will present a selection of products from our online shop and the past events—including the FoodMarketo’s in Milan’s Salone del Mobile (April 2010) and London’s Design Week (2010). The shop will also features an on-going set of design commissions in relationship with the gallery programmation and exhibitions. The first of these commissions is going to be on sale after our diner on the 31st; there are still some seats free available, so if you haven’t booked yet… head over to the Barbican event page: a Dinner with DesignMarketo. Barbican is taking care of the booking so please get in touch with them directly.

Shelves at the moment are containing amongst others in a neatly packed order: Alexandre Bettler, Amandine Alessandra, Arabeschi Di Latte, At Work, Catherine Guiral, David Weatherhead, Front Yard Company, Harry Thaler, Julian Bond, Maria Jeglinska, Mischer Traxler, Nicola Zocca, PUR, Sarah Gottlieb, Sang Bleu edition (Maxime Buechi and Jeanne Salomé Rochat) and Sibylle Stoeckli.

We are very excited by this new partnership; there is more to come in the pipeline… some really nice things! I can’t recommend you more to join us on Facebook, Twitter or the Mailinglist—you would be sad to miss all that!

For special enquiry or partnership proposal, please get in touch; a few more space are going to open and we are happy to consider new development and nice projects.
