We decided to produce a series of posters to support and encourage your donations. For the first poster we asked our friends Akinori Oishi to draw and All Cats Are Grey to print.

All the profits are going to the Voluntary Architects Network who are developing emergency support solutions; they are currently preparing to deploy simple partitions for evacuees taking shelter at gymnasiums in the Tohoku region.

Akinori Oishi is a self-confessed ‘drawaholic’ who immerses himself in a landscaped playground where hierarchies have disappeared. Oishi is best known for his typographic language that seem s to have no beginning or end.
He studied fine arts at Kyoto City University of Art followed by multi-media at IAMAS (International Academy of Media Arts and Sciences / Japan). After winning the award of MILIA (International Multi-media Fair in Cannes / France) 2001, he worked at the French legendary creative studio TEAMCHMAN. Today, he’s an independent artist of the contemporary character arts internationally.

Young Swiss designer Régis Tosetti (born 1982 in Lausanne), presents an enhanced version of his thesis for ECAL (University of art and design, Lausanne), in the form of an artist’s book. A very limited serie of posters have been produced for the launch of the book. Located somewhere between ethnographic investigation, photo-novel, and initiation epic, “l’Art de la Chasse” (The Art of Hunting) overcomes biased standpoints by inviting us to reconsider some fundamental processes related to this practice.

The hunter would have been the first “to tell a story” because he alone was able to read, in the silent, nearly imperceptible tracks left by his prey, a coherent sequence of events. — Carlo Ginzburg

Posters printed by lesley Sharp on a special bow target paper, and gratefully furnished by the East Down Centre. The original bow paper is produced only in one place in the world, in Sweden. There are 2 print passages: colours are printed digitaly first, and then black is screenprinted over.
