Olivier is half French half Finnish and spent his childhood drawing houses, building igloos and flying in cardboard spaceships. On completing his studies at Ecole Camondo in Paris and working with Shigeru Ban and Jerszy Seymour, he started up his own design studio with a clear motto: ‘fun, machines & nature’. His first project was a karaoke club called Club Video. Then he worked on Bibliotheque, W and Tar as furniture produced automatically. For the past years, he has been developping a partnership with a carpentry workshop and lately they have been playing with wood and a chainsaw. Olivier joined DesignMarketo during the Spring & Sprouts event at the Barbican Art Centre in 2011.
